Predator Drone

ChronoShift Industries is proud to introduce the latest in state-of-the-art aerial combat drones. The Predator Drone is a fully autonomous, all-weather, aerial assault drone. Able to autonomously identify, track, and engage targets, the Predator is a major threat in the skies.

Subsystems:
The predator drone is composed of several dependent subsystems, each one handling a different function of the drone. By separating critical from non-critical functions, the reliability of the drone improves as a catastrophic failure in one system will not result in the drone’s crashing, as flight performance is maintained, allowing for a landing and repairs.

The Predator Mk. II is the second initial prototype, used for initial testing of the various systems, including the Advanced Modular Weapon System (AMWS), the Flight Controls, and the primary Master Timing and Control Unit.

Propulsion:
The Mk.II used a system of anti-gravity hoverballs and positional thrusters to help maintain proper altitude and attitude. It is fairly quick, although the Mk.II does have problems when targets are either right above it or right below it. However, the drone has a self-righting controller, which maintains a level altitude, and can keep the drone upright in the event of a roll-over or pitch-over.

Weapons:
The AMWS on the Mk.II provides a modular weapons support system, allowing any weapons to be instantly added to the system. By developing a standardized protocol, weapons systems can be hot-swapped with the drone, with the drone instantly recognizing the function, operation, and functional limitations of each weapon.

Target data is fed to the weapons controller via a data transfer unit mounted just above the weapons mount under the wings. Once a data connection has been established, four latches firmly hold the weapon in place, and then the fire control computer configures the weapon to work with the drone’s current configuration.
