New Job, Same Old Stuff

So I’ve recently gotten a new job. I’m working as a clerk at a gas station two blocks from my house. It’s not a bad job, it’s just probably going to be rather monotonous, with me cleaning up messes, stocking shelves, and selling things to people. It will be a decent summer job though, and I should be able to rake in a couple thousand dollars by the end of the summer.

I’ve been playing a lot of World In Conflict lately, and it is interesting to see how over time people change their general strategies on how they play the game. World In Conflict has clearly reached the mature stage of its lifetime, in which the hardened veterans have every single detail worked out on which units are better, how many units they’ll need to beat a certain map, and where all of the best hiding places on the maps are. I personally like to stick with attack helicopters (AH-64s), and I fly around and blow up tanks and heavy artillery units. It has been getting harder though, as most of the new players are gone and the veterans all know how to counter four or five heavy helicopters flying around, blowing up their units. I’d like to write some articles sometime on game-play life-cycles, and how they can affect a game’s long-term scenario. Today is not that day, however, as I have a new job to learn and a new routine to get into.

Welcome to 7-11, how may I help you?

A New Era

So today is the beginning of a new period of my life. I graduate in little less than 24 hours, marking the end of my high school career and the beginning of the rest of my life. What I choose to do with my life is my own choice, and I’m sure I’ll change my mind along the way.

The one thing I have decided, however, is that I’m going to document the entire thing. This is going to be my personal web log (blog) which I will use to make periodic entries about how my life is going in general. I’ll be sharing personal experiences, I’ll be giving personal opinions and commentary, and I’ll just be sharing some really cool stuff.

Site Configurations

I’ve been pretty busy lately, so I’m trying to get as much done with this site as possible. I’m working on developing a color scheme that is pleasing, and I’ve found the WordPress theme that I want to stick with (for now). I’ve also finished installing Google Analytics and AdSense Plugins for the site. You should now begin to see ads placed randomly within the posts, as this site is ad supported (at least until I get some more capital).

I am still tweaking the site’s configuration though, so it might change several times in the next few weeks. Site layout is very important, as the user has to be able to easily navigate the site and find what they want with no problem.

Be sure to hang around, and remember to add this site to your favorites if you enjoy it and want to come back to it. I’m working on making Chrono101.com a premium blog with some high-caliber content, so be sure to stop back by later!

The Fire

I’ve been watching a lot of music videos on YouTube lately, and thanks to College Humor, I found Billy Joel’s music video, “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” I like the song. Even though it was written twenty years ago, in 1989, it still has a good message inside of it. I took it as meaning roughly that we shouldn’t try to fight what has been happening since the dawn of man. Take a look at the video for yourself and see what you think, and then maybe leave a comment on your feelings about it.
