The Site

This site, like all other websites, is hosted on a server (a computer that serves). That server is located in Manchester, United Kingdom and is hosted by Softicide. The site shares hardware and software resources with other websites on the server. The server is a Dell-brand server, running Widows Server 2008 as its operating system. The HTTP is served through Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) version 7, and the site also uses a MySQL database and PHP 5 to help store and process data. This configuration can be abbreviated WIMP (it is not wimpy!).

Running on the server is WordPress, a content management/blog publishing system. WordPress combines all of the hardware and software into what is presented to your computer.
